Detroit Green Technologies offers clients green applications for the exterior
of the building. This division is devoted to using various components
that have an immediate impact on the environment surrounding the
building.
We
offer everything from green fertilizers to unique irrigation and
roofing systems specific to Detroit Green Technologies only. By utilizing
these applications, a building will stand out and be a model for
others in the community to follow.
A sampling of the green exterior packages that are offered and implemented include but are not limited to:
Water Management- Managing irrigation consumption which can save over 50% on a water bill. Irrigation management is a complex task but extremely cost effective.
Organic Fertilization-Organic fertilizers are derived from materials such as cotton, bone, kelp, manure, etc. Organic fertilizers not only benefit the environment but also tremendously increase plant health.
Outdoor Products-Replacing outdoor playground equipment, benches, tables, bike racks, trash receptacles, etc. with recycled products create wonderful public image and reduce landfill waste. Plastics currently add 14.4 million tons of pollution to landfills each year.
Green Roofs-Green roofs have many proven qualities such as increasing a roofs lifespan by up to three times, mitigating the heat island effect, reducing run off water, and saving buildings up to 30% on energy costs during the summer months. Amazing systems are available that can be easily retrofitted to an existing roof.
Cistern Tanks-To maximize water savings, under water storage tanks can be implemented that collect, filter, and recycle rain water to be used in irrigation systems. Savings in most cases are over 50% in water consumption a year. The low install cost also makes cistern systems a good energy saving choice.
